Autism Speaks is a terrible organization that seeks to ensure no more Autistic people are born via prenatal testing so that Autistic fetuses can be aborted.
They also encourage existing Autistic people not to breed.
Less than 4% of the money made by Autism Speaks goes to helping Autistic people.
Autism Speaks doesn’t give a lick about Autistic adults like me, and has, on multiple occasions, told us to shut up when we critique their methods.
Most of the money made by Autism Speaks goes to their own pockets, and the rest to eradication of Autism and media that paints us as unfeeling monsters unworthy of and unable to love, who will always be a burden on the world.
Many of us have experienced prejudice because of this in our daily lives.
